Yes, OpenMPE is still very much alive and still very much active. There have
been several problems of late with the domain name registration and web page
hosting provider that as I'm sure some of those on this list have experienced.
The Board meets every Friday, even if you don't see the web pages updated.
Please keep in mind everyone working for OpenMPE are volunteers and work
progresses, albeit not at the same break-neck speed we'd have if everyone was
paid a good salary for 40 hours a week. :)

Perhaps you missed an important post a few weeks back, to both the HP3000-L and
the OpenMPE lists - asking for direct user input on why the user base wants HP
to change MPE/iX to allow 7.0 and 7.5 to run on 9x7 boxes. That post was not
random but specifically posted in response to a question raised on the -L and
subsequently posed to HP management. We still need more input from the user
community - HP will take the responses (or lack thereof) as reason to or not to
change their position and allow MPE/iX to boot and run on 9x7 boxes. Let's
continue with those comments!

The Board's meeting minutes disclosed publicly can only contain those items
which the Board and HP have agreed, under an informal non-disclosure agreement,
can be made public. There are frequently confidential discussions with HP
management that we cannot disclose to the public - so HP will freely discuss
with the Board some (we wish all) of HP's plans, and OpenMPE is playing a
significant role in those plans for the future of MPE/iX after HP leaves the
marketplace.
