To put a steak in the heart of this autoboot discussion.....
FOR ALL PERSONS WHO DO NOT OWN AUTORESTART/IX
1. Run EDITOR.PUB.SYS
2. Create a one line file with the following in it:
START NORECOVERYCRLF (of course you may put in whatever START parms you wish)
3. Using the CHANGE command replace CRLF with a carriage return and a line feed character.
4. Confirm this by listing the file with DISPLAY FUNCTIONS turned on, CRLF had better not be there.
5. KEEP AUTOBOOOT.PUB.SYS,UNN
6. Go into SYSGEN as MANAGER.SYS
7. Go into the SY section of sysgen
8. Make AUTOBOOT.PUB.SYS your autoboot file.
9. HOLD, EXIT, KEEP, make a SLT using the TA command.
10. =SHUTDOWN the system, boot from this tape, then UPDATE (no parameters)
11. Boot the system again, at the ISL> prompt turn on AUTOBOOT.
12. Your system will now boot itself.
Anybody see any typos?
