Hi Steve,
Um.... could you publish what the prices were???

Also, I don't know about Newport are they a HP VAR??? or authorized by HP??
Generally, I go with what either HP says about my HP 3k and associated hardware
or what the List tells me :)

Hello again:

We are planning to add more memory to our 927LX. Currently we have 64 Mb
and the plan was to upgrade to 128 Mb. Our HP CE said that the machine is
upgradeable to a max of 192 Mb. So we started to phone around.

HP quoted 64 Mb in the thousands of $s, installation extra.

Kingston quoted 64 Mb for considerably less.

Newport Digital quoted 64 Mb for just over half of Kingston's price. Also,
Newport said that we can put as much as 2.5 Gb of memory in a 927LX. At
Newport's price, we're considering adding 128 Mb instead.

So my question is twofold:

 - Has anyone added Newport Digital memory to their 927 or similar box, and
if so, have you experienced any problems? The price seems "too good to be
true";

 - Can anyone explain why HP says the machine will take up to 192 Mb, but
Newport says we can go magnitudes higher?

Many Thanks in advance,
