We found exactly the same thing. Upped memory from 112mb to 175 mb, and
the users quit complaining. On our 947LX, it was easier than adding 4mb
to a Packard Bell PC (the little SIMM things fit better). Hardest part is
figuring out how to get the back of the box open. All the usual warnings
about static discharges apply, of course.
<warning:old salt> It was interesting sticking in my pocket, a couple of
sticks with 32 times the maximum configurable memory of our Series III
whose feet left permanent imprints in our asphalt tile in the back room.
At less than the replacement price of _one_ of the four power
supplies!</warning>
