First of all Suprtool always reads the input KSAM file in sequential
order.
The difficulty with analyzing this is that the progress messages
are only at quarterly intervals. A progress report at every percent may
give us more of a clue as to what is happening and when. I have seen progress
message rise incrementally throughout a given task although I do not think that
this is what is at issue here.

I did try to duplicate this behaviour as I am curious to see what the File
system
is doing, but so far I am unable to, besides I am trying to get some actual work
done on Suprtool this week. :)

Some details that are missing are, the record size and key structure of the
file and what was the file equation that was in effect. So a listf,5 and a
listeq
would be helpful.
