"US close to climate concessions
US president ready to concede that climate change has scientific basis."

Oh dear, all of a sudden that which was untrue has become true.
A swift change of view on a quiet news day that just happens to
be a holiday, and all of a sudden Anthropogenic Global Warming has always
been true.
And Eurasia has always been at war with Eastasia.

I hope Neil Boortz has issued the talking points so everyone changes their
tune at the exact same time.

"US President George Bush is now ready to concede that climate change has
scientific basis, and that collective action is required over global
warming"

"Mr Bush's stance will be underlined in an interview to be shown this
evening on ITV's Tonight With Trevor McDonald. He will describe climate
change as "a significant, long-term issue that we've got to deal with",
acknowledging that human activity is "to some extent" to blame".

The whole thing isn't worth reading, except that it's a composite put
together by
several news agencies, most of them American, so the source can't be
written off as
hopelessly biased. (Even though the Guardian is a conduit for Godless
Communism, and indeed
the report subsides into rather one-sided agit-prop shortly after this
newsy bit.)

Of course nothing will happen as a consequence of this, it's a faith-based
tactical withdrawal which will
last for years. I assume it's part of an ongoing power-play between the oil
companies and the
 insurance companies.
