(yes, we use job rescue (no <plug>, just a customer)) actually, we got our
operators trained to ignore those errors :-)
with my bit of experimenting today, i see that doing a kill (of at least apache)
causes the job to go to a normal eof (no aborted by system management messages)
-- so that should keep job rescue happy and the operator's blissfully ignorant
