Two additional comments, First on our web site at Beechglen.Com in the
freeware section we have a utility called:
HPe3000 Network Trace Analyzer. This program automates the tracing process
and provides a summary report of the trace. It can be helpful in isolating
network and access issues.

Second, in you original posting you mentioned that you needed the MAC
address for security reasons. Using the physical location in a security
scheme is not a good idea for a number of reasons. There are several high
quality security packages for the HPe3000. If you don't have the budget it
would certainly it would be easier to create your own in a script. IMHO,
using a MAC address is not the way to go because it bypasses uniquely
identifying the individual by attempting to identify the location.
