Hello Gavin,
RE FTP IP addressing bug?
Your enthusiasm raised my curiosity... I took a look at the "name to ip" and "ip to name" resolution routines and found we are extracting the the ip parts with 'ultoa'.
strcpy(qbuf, ultoa((unsigned)addr[3] & 0xff));
It appears to me that the '0xff' definition of this ultoa is stripping the leading bits off of any number greater than $ff = 255. I will have to look into this further to determine it's functionality, but I was surprised that the MPE resolver is working differently than HP-UX 11.0 as the resolver code is a direct port from HP-UX with few changes, mostly MPE'ism's (opening files RESLFCNF.NET.SYS, HOSTS.NET.SYS & NSSWITCH.NET.SYS as examples).
