For anyone planning to implement disc mirroring on
one of the new 9X9KS boxes like we are, note that in
the June 95 issue of the HP Advisor - 3000 edition
there is an important little item y'all want to catch:
 
Under "Q's & Views" on top of page 6, it says that it is
*NOT* possible to mirror the internal Fast/Wide SCSI
bus on a 9X9 to an external FW SCSI bus with the
Mirrored Disk/iX software....   Whoops....  That is what
we were thinking we could do;  nobody from HP told us
otherwise in all the discussions we have had so far on
buying a 959.........
 
Lucky for us we had not locked in our order using FY95
expiring funds quite yet, huh ?!?!................  Back to the
spreadsheet;  increase part number 28696A quantity
by 1;  add another $1010 GSA cost to our bottom line....
