Hi Craig,
Do an 'ls -a' and look for hidden files (filename has a leading period). One of these files is pointing your shell to a directory that resides on your UTILITIES volume set.
There shouldn't be many so just do a 'more filename' where filename is one of the dot files.
'.profile' is the one to look at first. If you don't understand what it is doing the post it and I'll have a look.
If you don't have the "MPE/iX Shell and Utilities Reference Manual' then I suggest that you download a copy from HP MM Support:
hpmmsupport.com/information_links/information_links_programming.aspx
The .pdf files to download (there's 2 of them) are at the bottom of the 'Miscellenous' block.
