I think that is a frustrating part about working on HP's. Everywhere you
turn the are certifications for this and that. But nothing for HP
professionals. You tell someone that you work on an HP, you get "oh yeah,
cool". Now if I were a certified network person, I'd hear "WOW, now that's
where the money is".

I guess it feels like, there is no badge of honor for working on the HP's.
Granted, the honor comes from our own ranks. But I think that the
certification could be used as a marketing tool for these systems. At the
same time, it would give cause to learn more about the HP's.

Just think if being a certified HP person was given the same weight as a
MCSE, unreal!!!

Later.

Subject: Re: HP3K Certified Consultant?

I have had several questions about my HP3000 certification. So, now the
answer. I was affiliated with an HP channel partner several years ago. HP
required that each CP have certified sales and technical personnel onboard
or
available. HP offered the PowerUp training courses and tests for 9000 and
3000 platforms. I took and passed both of the HP3000 tests at $75 each
given
through a testing service. I and SigConsult had several conversations with
HP
to allow the consultant members to take advantage of the program. HP
declined
to allow the access. HP has dropped the technical test for the 3000, as far
as I know. It was a good concept and we wanted HP to allow SigConsult and
maybe INTEREX members access to the program. I wish that we could have had
a
way to continue the program! Let's hear from the List and HP.
