Interesting. Nope, MPEXMGR does not get overwritten. MPEX reads the file
to figure what it needs to do before giving you the prompt.

actually, this is a pretty simple question, i think. i'm
wanting to make changes to my mpexmgr.pub.vesoft
file.....but am wondering if it gets overwritten when the
software is updated? if that is the case, how do you refer
to another startup file within mpexmgr? (rather like
/etc/profile and /etc/profile.local....) - d
