But Larry, I didn't WANT a new system....the goal was to make the IBM guys
WANT to go away without the big guy leaning all over me for not being
co-operative. :-)

Sometime you have to implement sanity from the middle of an organization in
spite of the "hot topic de jouer". When the guys on top rip out the
knowledge base (like in Debbie B's earlier post) and put something mission
critical under someone else who, while possibly an outstanding manager,
isn't up to speed yet on all the issues then the company is flirting with
the possibility of major inefficiencies and costly guesses.

Did anyone ever hear of a 3000 being replaced because it wore-out???
