A personal note: Miss Frieda Riley's college roommate (who, herself, had
graduated from Big Creek High School in War, WV) married a few months after
they both graduated from Concord College. 17 months later in Princeton,
WV, said roommate became the mother of an occasional poster to 3000-L. :-)
Another personal note: the valedictorian of the first graduating class
from Big Creek High School was my grandmother. :-)
A third personal note: my aunt, as well as her husband, attended Big
Creek at the same time as Homer Hickam.
Mike, who has never refrained from pointing out his *deep* roots in
the coalfields of West Virginia...
