I like to listen to a London FM station on the Net (of course) and I was surprised that it was even in their news.

This morning I am commuting to work and was surprised to see a mile long military column heading south on I5 - I then realized that they were probably National Guard heading to the fires.

I called a friend in San Diego - he lives by a canyon that is close to the fires but so far he hasn't gotten the word to evacuate -

He said something interesting in re communication - They are using a "reverse 911" and a computer will call 10s-100s of thousands of people in a designated region with an order to evacuate if they deem a region in danger.

So far over 900,000 have evacuated from 12-14 fires in So Cal...

And finally so many are in Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego - and I am reading that they are served great food on buffet and they have masseuses there to ease the tension of people - how California is that? ;-)

Bill
