I had an ugly view problem years ago with Ref v8.0. Fix was to upgrade to
10.0.

I was coding / testing a new screen, one of the trickiest we have ever had,
and it kept thinking I had left one field blank when I could see I had entered
something there. It took a LOOOONG time before I figured out that my new code
was not at fault :) No startup problem or extra "enter" at the wrong time,
just missing data when I did press 'enter'. Probably had color cursor in
effect, but never thought to experiment with that.

Your message seems to say that you are stuck with 8.0, but get out of it if
you can.
