Hi Bob,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately (for me), I think you may be on the
right track. We send the same files to 33 other HP processors and did not
have any trouble with them. The one thing that has changed with this
processor (and the other 32) is that we installed PowerPatch 6 (OS version
5.5) and about 10 additional patches. We try and keep all of our processors
in sync as far as patches, powerpatches, os changes, 3rd party software,
etc. As far as I know their powerpatch installation went fine. If this is
not the case, what could have gone wrong on this processor that did not
happen on any of the other 32??

Thanks,

wilson

Subject: RE: Help - Can't Restore Files

Wilson,
Can you restore and existing file on your local system? If so then are
there OS differences between the two machines? How long has it been since
the restore worked successfully and what's been changed OS or 3rd party wise
since then....

____________________________________________________________Hi,

We have a processor located remotely at one of our colleges who we send
installation tapes to with our home grown software that can no longer
restore files. Every file that already exists on the system comes back with
a "File Not Restored: Disc File In Use, Cannot Purge" error. If the file
does not exist, the file will restore. Nothing is running and no one is
logged on except for the operator when they try and do the restore. I have
an open call with the Response Center with no solution yet. They already
had me run a job that turned all the store bits off which would have been
the obvious answer but it wasn't. They have escalated this to another team
but have not found the problem yet either. Purging each file that we want
to restore manually is a workaround but not too realistic. Help!!! We need
to restore some files soon :).

Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

Wilson
