But wouldn't the choice of staying in the ball game hinge on the financial
advantages of doing so? Maybe so many HP-3000 sites get all their work done
in Image and AllBase which is loads cheaper then Oracle, that no one was
buying Oracle or HP-3000's to run Oracle on. And I also think that there may
be alot more VMS shops then HP shops thus still mudding the water a bit. I
am not concerned one way or another whether HP uses Oracle or not. But let
us not get on a bandwagon and have HP spend money on something few people
want, when they could be spending it on improving the HP-3000 somewhere
else. (The question is, does HP use its savings for the HP-3000 or for other
platforms?)
