gee....all these sudden questions about vista!
if you check last week's(?) raven archives, you'll find a post from me
where i outline how we implemented feeding vista mpe reports.
core to this process is a perl program i wrote (i called it 'spoolmon')
that is essentially an ftp engine. if there's anyone interested in it,
please send me a private email (see my signature) about it.
you'll obviously need perl installed along with ken hirsch's MPE::CIvar
and MPE::File modules...but y'all have that already of course :-)
about vista in general -- do make sure you get good samples of your
production reports into vista for testing. raw mpe spoolfiles are
quite complex things. these can not be sent to vista! in our
experience, it's taken a fair amount of 'training' to make vista
understand our (relatively simple) print-to-disc files.
the task is doable...it just takes work. - d
