We run a version of the SYSCONF job, last update in 2006 from the comments, on
the first of every month. I am a little late this month because of other more
pressing issues. How that may be, I evntually got around to streaming it
yesterday and I find that it is still running:
#J825 EXEC 10S LP TUE 8:52A SYSCONFJ,MANAGER.SYS
Looking at STDOUT I see this:
:echo****************************************************** > *list
:# **************************************************
:# * This step is for gathering NMMGR config info *
:# **************************************************
:echo > *list
:file nmmgrcmd=$stdinx
:RUN NMMGR.PUB.SYS > *list
:echo > *list
:echo > *list
:echo****************************************************** > *list
:echo* OUTPUT FROM MEMMAP & IOMAP * > *list
:echo****************************************************** > *list
:echo > *list
:if hpversion > "C.60.00"
*** EXPRESSION TRUE
: echo map > temp
: echo exit >> temp
: echo >> temp
: XEQ CSTM.PUB.SYS < temp > *list
When I run this from the command line I see the problem but do not know what to
do to fix it:
:xeq cstm.pub.sys
CSTM B8343AA.75.05 Version created TUE, MAR 23, 2004 8:24 AM
Running Command File (/usr/sbin/stm/ui/config/.stmrc).
This operation may take approximately one minute.
Waiting to obtain host information from the local host hahp3k01.harte-lyne.ca.
The diagnostic daemon "diagmond" may have been started recently and is busy
building the device map.
If this message persists for a long time, it is possible that either the
diagnostic daemon is not running, or that networking is improperly configured.
The networking configuration can be verified by comparing 'nslookup `hostname`'
with the output of ifconfig of the LANs identified by lanscan.
If you cancel this message, the User Interface (UI) will not automatically
connect to a Unit Under Test (UUT). It will be necessary to use the Select
Current System command in the System menu to attach the UI to a UUT.
I can find neither lanscan nor nslookup on the HP3000.
The only sysadmin things done on the HP3000 since the last run of SYSCONFJ had
to do with changing the network mask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.255.128,
using nmmgr, and rearranging the network printers.
I need some advice as to how to fix this.
