Jim,
Being a curious sort, I experimented with STD and likewise could not
find any way to affect the record size of the resulting disk file.
Where my experience differed from yours is that the resulting file had
128-word records! I was able to use TAPECOPY, available on Jazz, to
create a store tape from the STD file. Perhaps you have a different
version of STORE. We are on 6.5, and the version info on the Store
banner is C.65.22.

Subject: STORE S-T-D buffer default
From reading the manual it is evident that STORE defaults to a 32K
buffer size when writing to disc. There are no apparent command
line options or environment variables to alter this behaviour. Is
there any way to force STORE to write 16K buffers to disk? Failing
that, does HP have a utility similar to STORCOPY to rewrite MPEiX
STD files to tape and DDS?
Does anyone else out there STORE to disc first and thence to tape?
How do you do it without running STORE twice against the same store
fileset?
Regards,
Jim
