>First, I am not too excited about Mr. Verona's posts either. However,
I do believe there are some on this list who are interested in
receiving information on UNIX. Unforunately Mr. Verona's posts scratch
the hair on our backs in the wrong direction. This could be
purposefully, or by accident. Since we don't know Mr. Verona, we can't
'put a face behind the posts'. Often in e-mail, it is easy to offend
the readers without realizing it. When we are accused of being
offensive, most of respond more offensively. So... Maybe we can start
over with Mr. Verona.

Hello, Mr. Verona. We realize you offer a service that may be very
helpful, knowledgeable and necessary. We enjoy having many technical
answers to our questions, even though it may not be the answer we are
looking for. If our negative responses from your original post caused
offense, then we apologize. When we have questions and issues that can
be addressed by you, we welcome your response. One way we might be
able to 'have faith' in the answer is by you, possibly, telling us a
little about your background. I think we know your company, but
because of the rough start, knowing you a little better would help.

Look forward to knowing more about you.

Thank you for acknowledging my position and feelings. I do not want to
offend anybody (please see later posting). I will be glad to answer
any questions you have about myself. I think it would be more
appropriate to address these via e-mail rather than bore everyone with
details about myself.

As a synopsis of where I am coming from. I head up sales and marketing
for DB-NET. The main focus of my job is to work with other
manufacturers and developers to address the concerns and needs of their
customers. I also work with our direct customers to help them
accomplish their IS goals. Many potential customers are directed
towards MPE , while others are steered towards UNIX. We also do a bit
of work for the ever shrinking TI990 market. I spend my time helping
the customers determine what is best for themselves.

Obviously, there is a tremendous interest in what we have to offer.
IBM, DEC, HP, SUN, Novell, Acucobol, Microfocus, Oracle, Sybase,
Informix, etc. all have working relationships with DB-Net because they
need to address the concerns and needs of their customers. These
companies have turned to us to help meet these needs. These companies,
along with myself, thought the proposed options would be of interest to
the readers of this newsgroup. If it is not, I will respectfully stop
posting. Beleive it or not, I try to keep the posting as "unmarketing"
as possible.

I hope this helps and I appreciate the opportunity to clear the air.
