(you know, i honestly thought we had this conversation just a couple of
weeks ago....not (almost) a year! i guess i've been busy....anyhow...)

ok, if i use 'printo' with the wait *and* search option, can i trap that
i've found whatever i'm searching for?

why?

i have a spoolfile (in a create state) that i want to 'tail', looking for a
specific string. if i find the string, i want to do something. it would be
wonderful if i could tack something onto printo....but i don't know how to
do it or if it's possible. (otherwise, i'm faced with tailing and grep in
two steps...) - d
