The question has been asked: "how many" redirect messages received by
the 3000 and in "what time period" causes the "Gateway redirects severe"
message to be generated.

I reviewed the code and first found the ...

*    Entity          : IP                                            *
*    Internal Event  : Duplicate gateway redirects                   *
*    Log Class       : Non-critical error                            *
*    Location        : 216             Parameter       : $8935CB4F   *

... message is generated when the 3000 receives eight ICMP redirects
for the same network, and secondly I found the ...

*    Event           : NETWORK PROBLEM                               *
*    Entity          : IP                                            *
*    Internal Event  : Gateway redirects severe                      *
*    Log Class       : Operator intervention/attention required      *
*    Location        : 215             Parameter       : $8935CB4F   *

... message is generated when the 3000 receives 128 ICMP redirects
for the same network in a 90 second time period.
