: This is true.  HP will be supporting certain 3rd party disks.  But only with
: HP custom tuned firmware.  The same DEC disk off the shelf will NOT be the
DEC
: disk from HP.  Full testing and integration must be done.  This does cost
: money.

Phil, you are absolutely correct.  Those drives are fully integrated and
tested which takes alot of time.
