This probably won't help you answer your networking question in an
afternoon, but if you type HELP, then at the HELP prompt (which is the
greater than sign >) type HELPSTUDY, and don't get offended by the
first ten to twenty screens that explain what a computer is and what a
file is, it gets to be an actually useful bit of info for the MPE
newcomer. That's where I started back when; I then went on to
exploring in topics and commands in HELP. One caveat: just because the
documentation says so, it ain't necessarily so, nor is it necessarily
a good idea. Lockwords are one example; more recent documentation
recommends not using them, but they are nevertheless explained as part
of the file system.

Also, enter a LISTACCT ACCT#;FORMAT=BRIEF. If you have such accounts,
you may have the files for use with the "Using the 900 Series HP 3000"
tutorial modules. And if you are really lucky, you will also have the
books that go with.

As for the PC/Win NT to HP3000 network, are you wanting to use a PC
connecting to the 3K, or are you wanting an NT server to be part of
the same network as your 3K?

Welcome aboard. It's a fine platform, and a friendly community. In
almost a year on this mailing list, I could count the flames I've seen
on one hand.
