I received the instructions thanks.

Although it does contain some flaws.

One must assume the opposite of SIGNOFF is SIGNON

It doesn't specify whether a command goes into the Subject line or the
body of the text. As some list servers behave differently in regards to
this matter. (Although I can get around this by trying it both ways.)

You get this message just after going through signing on successfully. So
you remember these details in short term memory. So after a year or so,
even the list standard list greeting needs some deciphering.

Then someone suggested I try the 3K.com web page, which diagrees
fundamentally with the subscription commands contained in the HP3000 list
greeting everyone gets. At the 3Kcom site, it says the commands are
"subscribe" and "unsub" NOT "SIGNOFF" and it's opposite.

Which is is the true info (or I could try them all?) And again, I'm still
not sure whether it should be on the Subject line or the body of the text.
(The possibilites are starting to increase geometricallly!)
