Hello to one and all:

Greetings from an HP old-timer, net newbie. Please forgive any atrocious
blunders.

I am attempting to port a product from HP-UX to the POSIX shell on a series
900 running MPE/iX 5.0. The existing make files and a dependency on perl
force me to come up with either Gnu make and Gnu perl for this platform
or a working facsimile. Do such animals exist on the CSL (no, I'm not
an installation member, but, yes, I could justify it if the answer is there)
or at any other location? Has anyone out there tried to port these items
with any success? How about general port anomalies from HP-UX to the POSIX
shell?

My perusal of the existing FAQ files and several days' worth of traffic has
not given me any encouragement, but the presence of so many informed and
helpful wizards on the net gives me some measure of hope.

HELP! As expected, 'they' want it yesterday!

Thanks,

David Groves
