Jim,

do not confuse the 2 GB limit of files accessed through
the POSIX API (no matter whether they have names in the
HFS or MPE namespace) with the 4 GB limit of STORE when
writing store-2-disk archives.

Store does not use the Posix API, so it is not subject
to the 2 GB "view of the world". Store to disk predates
the MPE/iX "large file" versions (beyond 4 GB), so it
still uses the (then current) 4 GB file size limit, as
far as I understand.

So I would expect all store-to-disk "reels" to be <= 4GB,
regardless of the file name being "MPE style" for the 1st
"reel" or "HFS style" for the remaining reels (if any).

Lars.
