Well, they charged me $79 for a box containing two color colorstix and one
black colorstix. Ignoring the "free" black stick, that's about $40 each for
the color sticks, which is comparable to an inkjet cartridge. And yes, you
do need three color sticks (actually four, if you count the black one as
well), but you need three (or four) color toner cartridges for the LJ 4500
color printer (the only other color printer that I have experience with
other than inkjet printers) and the color toner cartridges for the LJ 4500
cost about $120 each.
What remains to be seen is how many prints you can get from a color stick.
