Let me add my agreement to Mr. Sletten's comment.

And I would like to thank Stan and Wirt for the most entertaining reading
I've had in several months. (perhaps I lead a sheltered life, but Stan
should be a commedian)

I read everything that Wirt writes on this list with great interest and have
found him to be a fountain of useful information and insight.

BUT,

I'll say again (sorry Wirt), Stan is right.

Sorry, I respectfully but completely disagree with the above:
How users access an HP 3000 is a completely proper and very
pertinent discussion for 3000-L.  I make a substitute motion and
strongly urge this good technical discussion continue for as long
as there is still anything productive to discuss....
