Hi James,
I'm not a HP-UX person either so with that said...
From a look at our support database it looks like the latest
PDC for the N4000 is rev. 40.25. It does not address any
problem that seems similar to the one you report.
Another idea which I am sure has been considered is that
the memory carrier(s) are not seated correctly. Perhaps the
new 2GB boards require more 'persuasion' to seat properly.
FWIW I hope this helps.

Oh Wise ones!!!
I have a friend (I think anyway) who asked me this question. Since I'm not
a HP-UX person.. .Does anyone have
and Idea what could cause this?
Thanks
James

I got a guy waiting in VA for an answer- He's got an N4000 with 8 360mhz
procs... When he puts in a 1gb memory kit- it's fine, when he pulls it, and
puts in a 2gb kit- no boot! Trying to guess whether there is a firmware
upgrade needed to recognize 2gb's... (never heard o' that though...)
I'll keep looking- if you got an idea, lemme know- Thanks!!!
