Having flown in the Otter, I highly doubt that the pilot walked back either,
it
is more along the lines of crawled over the seats and people to shut
the door, the noise in the plane is incredible, so I doubt anyone would
have heard anything.

Truly a sad story.

The Mercury article sounds much more plausible.
