Hi all,

I am forwarding this email to 3000-L a second time for Praveen in CSY.
There was zero response to the earlier posting and we are interested
in knowing if this means that no one uses ITO to manage MPE systems, or
if maybe my posting got lost?

Thanks in advance,
Jeff Vance, CSY

Dear Folks,
As some of you might already know, we (CSY) are investing in
enhancing ITO (formerly OperationsCenter) to better manage HP 3000
systems in a heterogeneous environment. This is one of the system
management initiatives that we have embarked on to make the HP 3000 an
easily manageable system in today's enterprise.

Those of you who are familiar with ITO know that ITO allows users to
create utility scripts that can be executed on any MPE/iX managed
system by the click of a button (It essentially automates the process
of having to create a VT session, logging on, and executing the
appropriate script). Some default scripts are provided with ITO. Often
these scripts do simple things like invoking DISCFREE, SHOWPROC etc.,
So for example, if an ITO user wants to find out the free space on a
particular MPE system, he/she would select the system symbol on the
ITO map and double click the DISCFREE application icon. This action
would create a window on the user's workstation displaying the
DISCFREE output of the selected system.

Now, the reason I am writing to you all is to find out if there are
any scripts that any of you have written (irrespective of whether you
use ITO or not), that you find indispensable in your day to day MPE
management and if so, are you willing to contribute such scripts to
CSY. CSY will give you credit in the comment sections of those
scripts.

If you are interested in contributing MPE system management scripts,
please write me at [log in to unmask] If we find that your script
meets the needs of our ITO customers, we will distribute it to
the ITO customer base and bundle it in with future ITO releases.

Regards,
Praveen Prabhakaran
