This will not resolve your problems, but it may give you ideas for a
work-around.

We've worked with this a little in the Win95 environment.  The product
installs 16-bit drivers along side of MS Office's 32-bit drivers.  MS Query
95 could not see the ODBC 16-bit driver for allbase-Image/SQL, and vice
versa.  We got around the problem by using MS Query for Windows which uses
the 16-bit drivers and ignores the 32bit drivers.
