Jon,

Eloquence is a DBMS, with optional additional development facilities,
that runs on HP-UX, Linux, and Win2K. From the point of view of e3k
users, Eloquence permits a TurboImage schema to be processed on the
chosen platform, after which, existing TurboImage data may be exported
and re-imported to the new database. Also provided is a library of
TurboImage instrinsics for MPE application migration and support.

Additional features include Query3k, SQL/R report generator, and others.

Advanced Network Systems have recently announced ADBC for HP-UX
(ADBC-UX) which is an implementation of the well-established ADBC
software..
Briefly, ADBC-UX (and ADBC) permits Java client applications to use
TurboImage calls in the client application which are routed to the
server via a listener and a datamanger process where native TurboImage
(Eloquence on HP-UX) calls are executed. This approach is similar to
ODBC or JDBC but provides applications that are high performance, easy
to create and maintain, and easy to understand, without the complexity
and layers of software inherent in using ODBC or JDBC.
The use of Java makes it easy to develop and deploy platform-neutral
rich client applications or middle-tier components using, for example,
the open source Eclipse IDE platform.
