Tom,
We do this with 3 sites connected over vpns - well 2 satellites (US, China)
connected to a central site (Oz) anyway.

Each site has as its gateway in the 3000 network defined as the ip of the
vpn device (Sonicwall here) to the internet. Each site has a different
subnet - central is 192.168.2.x, satellites as 192.168.3.x and 5.x.
Office printer in central at ldev 430 (192.168.2.200) is defined in each
satellite site identically in sysgen and npconfig. Ocasionally we need to
log on to satellite sites to restart the spooler if the connection goes down
due to internet load issues, but not too often. I suggest you use ldev nos
arranged so that there is no confusion as to which system they are on - a
different range of numbers from the first site than for the second site.

Once vpn is up, you should be able to logon in either direction, - with
Reflections via vt-mgr, or telnet , and as soon as that works, your printers
should work, albeit a bit slower than locally.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Internet Printing

I am setting up a network at a 2nd site and researching setting up VPN over
the Internet to set up a wide area network.

It seems as though the connection will allow the manager at the 2nd site to
telnet on to the HP3000 like everyone else does here. That part seems like
a no-brainer. But I was wondering about printing from our HP3000 at the
1st site to printers at the 2nd site.

At the moment, our HP3000 just has a private IP address. What configuration
changes on the HP would allow it to spool to remote printers at the 2nd
site?
