Subject: How do you erase a tape label?

It's easy to add a tape label to a non-labeled tape, but to erase
one,,hmmm.

On a 7980 tape drive, I remember doing a read/write self-test, but what if
it was a dds drive?

Sounds simple, but I bet there's a lot of people scratching there mind on
this one.

Thanks for any replies,
