It's been a long time since I have made these sorts of changes, so I
think it best I double check my memory.
We are making many changes to our disc drive configuration this weekend,
and I want to do this with the least
amount of pain (ok, work).
We will be removing some of the old 4gb full height discs from a HASS
unit and replacing them with the 4.3gb low profile discs.
In addition we are adding mirrored discs for a couple of private volume
sets (non_system_volume_sets ;-)
1) The 4.3gb low-profile discs I am adding have different model numbers
in ODE
ST34371W, ST34572WC, and ST34573WC even though they all look the
same.
Does it matter what I configure them in as?
2) because I will be moving discs around, and adding discs to the volume
sets, I think the best bet is to delete
all of the LDEVs and completely read them from scratch. This means I
also should scratch the volumes add them
back to the appropriate volume set and then restore the data.
Am I missing anything?
