Perl and unresolved externals

Probaby for Mark B... :-)

Just finished adding reactive patches to
a 939 6.5 pp2 that was running Perl (v5.6.0)
just fine.

After the patch process I get the unresolved
externals error.

I go to the directories /usr/lib and /lib and look
at the *.sl 's.  They are links pointing to the
lib*.so files.  They used to point to the lib*.a
files (I think!).

However I have another system (989/400 6.5pp2)
with Perl (v.5.6.1) on it and the *.sl files are actual
files and no *.so files in sight.

I'm starting to think the *.so files are "old" sl's?
And therefore the *.sl links are pointing to the old sl's.

Therefore do I need to purge the *.sl links and rerun
the LIBSHP3K script?
