I had a similar problem long time ago when trying to install SQL/Server on a
NT server. The server we were trying to install it on had 8.01GB of avail.
disc space. However, looks like setup program "free space counter" was
"rounding" it to .01GB... Copying some files to bring avail. diskspace at
7.99GB solved it.
I had exact same problem many months later on another server. That time, it
had 16.02GB of free space. Again, lowering it under 16GB solved it.
By any chances, how much disc space do you have on your system ?
