I am working my way through the check-lists for reinstalling from a
CSLT and I have come to the conclusion this stuff was written more to
obscure than to illuminate.

So, I get to the point where is says, and I quote:

"A re-installation can be planned or unplanned. An unplanned
re-install is performed when you have had a major system level crash
and you are
replacing the current operating system with the same version of the
system software. Use your most recent CSLT to reinstall the system."

So, this is unplanned as I see it.

"If you are performing an unplanned Re-install, proceed with Applying
the Modification in Phase 2."
. . .
Chapter 5 “Modifying Your System”
Begin Phase 2. Exclusive access to the system required.
. . .
Start here if you are performing an unplanned Re-install.
______ “Restarting the System” on page 5-44

And everything that I read on those pages speak of booting from disc,
which I cannot do.

"If you are performing a Manage Patch task and HP Patch/iX created a
CSLT/STORE tape, or your are performing an Add-on, Update, Staging
Area, Modify Remote System, Re-Install, or Install, proceed with Step 1.
To restart the system:
1. Boot the system from the primary boot path."

Which is not going to work. Where are the instruction to install from
a cslt? Or does this require an install a new system as outlined in
section 5?

Can somebody provide the Readers Digest version? All the devices are
present and configured. Both boot paths are correct. I have a CSLT
from the primary made this morning and a full backup from Monday
night.

Step 1. Boot from tape.

Step 2. . . is?
