My University has a need to be able to scan all student documents
and allow access to the scanned data from all over the campus
(preferably via a web viewer). Our existing paper system is virtually
unworkable.

I have vague recollections that HP used to work with some
company in this area using the HP9000 as the engine. I remember
HP doing a presentation about what they described as a "hugely
successful" installation for some government/territory department in
Canada.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Do any of the Universities in the USofA (or anywhere else for that
matter) have systems that do anything remotely like I need. Don't
mind what kit it uses, I have both HP9000 and HP3000 (and even
NT & Novell).

Comments (on or off list to save band width) would be really
appreciated.
