Let's see. Pulled out the old DTC cabling and racking guide and... WOW!
There are lots of ways to build a cable for the RS-423 but no DB-5. Here is
the one I believe you are after; DB-25 to RJ-45.

RJ45 at DTC DB-25 at PC/printer
1 - RXa/Input 9 - TX-/output
2 - RXb/Input 10 - TX+/output
3 - TXa/Output 3 - RX-/Input
4 - CTS/Input 1 - PGND
5 - RTS/Output 7 - SGND
6 - TXb/Output 18 - RX+/Input

On the RS-232 side:

RJ45 at DTC DB-25 at PC/printer
1 - RD/Input 2 - TD/Output
3 - TD/Output 3 - RD/Input
4 - CTS/Input Not connected
5 - RTS/Output Not connected
6 - SGND 7 - SGND

RJ45 at DTC DB-9 at PC/printer
1 - RD/Input 3 - TD/Output
3 - TD/Output 2 - RD/Input
4 - CTS/Input Not connected
5 - RTS/Output Not connected
6 - SGND 5 - SGND

I personally had a question on the DB-9 connection from them manual. I
don't remember pins 2 and 3, transmit and receive, being different between
the DB-25 and the DB-9. I guess if it doesn't work you should try to swap
pins 2 and 3.

If you need anything else let me know.

Subject: [HP3000-L] RJ 45 cabling

Hello fellow Listers !

I need to know what the cabling scheme is for RJ-45 ports hooked up to an
RS-423 and an RS-232 board in a DTC72. More precisely, I need the cabling
scheme to hook up the RJ-45 connectors to DB-5 (RS-423) and DB-9/DB-25
(RS-232) connectors.

As always, your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
