This must be a reference to Roger Zelazny's "Nine Princes in Amber" which is one of my favo(u)rite series.
The whole concept of the "Pattern" fascinated me especially when I started doing Tai Chi Chuan.
The "Trumps" were another amazing invention.

Roger Zelazny is my most favo(u)rite author of all-time.
His originality was outstanding.
I was very upset when he passed away. He could say more in a sentence than most authors in a page.
His books will rate as classics over time.

Sorry to go on but it was nice to see someone else who appreciated him. :o)

Cheers,

John Dunlop
