ISQL and the shell

Hi Listers,

I can't get the ALLBASE ISQL to work properly from the shell.
When I invole isql from the shell, connect, and do a select, isql reports

        Open failed on file 'isqlout'. (FSERR 451) (DBERR 300)

It then has created a temporary file

        /PORT7/PUB/port70x/ISQLOUT

(as seen with "callci listftemp"). When I try to remove that file with

callci 'purge /PORT7/PUB/port70x/ISQLOUT, temp'
the CI says 'File /PORT7/PUB/port70x/ISQLOUT not found'.
What can be happening here ? Why is isql creating a tempoary file ISQLOUT ?
I did not use any file equation or redirection, nor did I use SET OUTPUT in isql.
When I do the same from the CI everything works fine.

Any help would greatly be appreciated !
