I just use the DELETE key. I took a week off in August and forgot to set
my mail to NOMAIL....627 messages came. I skimmed the beginning of
each thread and then deleted about 3/4 of the 627. Yes, we seem to go
overboard sometimes. However, it might mean that we are not having the
problems other platforms have???? Or we don't have enough to do.....
NOT!! Let's not get into the "to monitor or not to monitor the list" discussion
again.

Subject: Use of List Server

Dear HP3000-L,
at the risk of getting a flood of negative emails I am going to make a
request as to the use of this
listserver. I find listservers very useful and I am on several of them but
the HP3000-L by far generates
the most emails and at times most of them of are of non-technical nature.
Would it be possible for
people to refrain from jokes, stories, and in general non-HP3000 related
subject matter on this server?

Thanks

Dave Frenkel
