I have no problem with VOLUNTARY socialism. As someone who believes in
capitalism though, I'd simply chose not to participate. In the practical
world though, socialism gets implemented in a MANDATORY manner. You MUST
follow the rules or you will be somehow punished. Outside of an Israeli
kibbutz, I don't know of any VOLUNTARY socialist arrangement that has endured
the test of time. Practical socialism requires government force to enforce
the socialist rules. That infringes on people's freedom to run their own
lives. It also results in the typical inefficiency of socialist societies.
North Koreans are not starving due to capitalism running rampant throughout
North Korea.
