cc:MAIL is a culprit, as Glenn revealed and the workaround for is that
cc:Mail should show as an "attachment" which can be read with the Windows
95/98/NT "default viewers - right click on the attachment and click View.
When the system comes back with "There are no viewers...do you wish to use
default viewers..." - reply Yes. Some others are Microsoft Outlook, Outlook
Express, and the Exchange Client, when messages are sent in RTF format.

For users of one of these Microsoft clients (I use Outlook 98, for example),
should send their messages in Plain Text format. This can be done by adding
an entry to your address book, and UNCHECK the "Always send in Microsoft
Rich Text Format" option. Then, all messages to this entry (which would be
HP3000-L), will go as Plain Text.

In addition, if your site uses Microsoft Exchange, your Exchange
Administrator should set the INTERNET MAIL CONNECTOR, on the Internet Mail
tab, click Advanced, and set the "Send Microsoft Exchange Rich Text
Formatting to "User" or "Never". Setting to "Always" will cause ALL mail to
be sent in RTF format. Setting to "User" allows the user to specify the
format, and setting to "Never" always converts the message to Plain Text.

Best Regards,
Joe (using Microsoft VPN/PPTP, and it works great :)
